AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome transformations echo through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine group.
The adventure centers on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a striking scene showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an special katana together with multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
